Platinum is the whitest metal of them all, platinum would not turn yellow. If your ring is turning yellow, it might mean that it is actually white gold, because white gold is actually yellow with a rhodium tint. Rhodium wears off after about 6-8 months and after a year will likely start showing an obvious yellow tint to it.
