Not right now. Platinum is about half the cost of gold as of 2022 and it can dent much easier than gold. If you were going to go to the jeweler, they would probably recommend white gold over platinum, but if you wanted to cut your costs down and still have a beautiful finish, platinum is a good option. It takes more heat to size platinum than gold, and the jeweler may have to pull the stone to make sizes and adjustment.
