Changing a watch battery is usually pretty easy, most watches have a snap on feature; however it is possible to accidentally break your watch.  

The cost of having it repaired or the battery replaced at a local watch repair shop is so small compared to the time and tools you will need to do it on your own, that it might be easier to just walk into a jewelry shop that repairs watch batteries.
